We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 41st annual Language Testing Research Colloquium (LTRC), which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia from March 4 through 7, 2019. This event, taking place 40 years after the original meeting of language testers in a Boston hotel room in 1979, is returning to North America for the first time in four years and to the United States for the first time in seven years. We have travelled the globe in 40 years, with the last two conferences held in the Southern Hemisphere—Colombia in 2017 and New Zealand in 2018.

The conference will be held at the Marriott Courtyard in Decatur, Georgia, just six stops on MARTA (Atlanta’s public transit station) from downtown Atlanta. Decatur is Georgia’s most walkable city and is well known for its excellent restaurants and shops.

As appropriate for a conference in Atlanta and consistent with much of the current focus in language testing, our conference theme is Language Testing and Social Justice, and we are organizing several events around this theme. We welcome your proposals on this theme, but of course we are interested in receiving proposals on any topic related to language testing.

You may also be interested in these other conferences just after LTRC in Atlanta:

American Association of Applied Linguistics (AAAL), March 9-12,
www.aaal.org

Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), March 12-15,
www.tesol.org

We look forward to welcoming y’all to Atlanta!
Sara Cushing & Meg Malone, Conference Co-Chairs
