The Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Department of English at the University of Macao is pleased to announce the AWL Workshop and Conference. Given the multilingual nature of communities around the world where assessment is critical, the theme of this international conference will be "Assessing World Languages."

The Workshop will be held on November 8 and 9 and focus on training participants in both assessing skills and quantitative research methods. The Conference will be held on November 10 and 11 and focus on research that connects assessment with teaching and learning of languages and contexts that are typically under-represented.

The Workshop is partially funded by the International Language Testing Association workshop grants and the Conference is partially funded by the University of Macao's Research and Development funds.

The language of the Workshop and Conference will be English although simultaneous translation into Mandarin and Portuguese will be available, if requested. More details will follow on the AWL2017 Conference website regarding registration and accommodation.
