Call for Papers

China Association for Language Testing and Assessment (CALTA) is happy to announce that the Fifth International Conference on Language Testing and Assessment & Inaugural Meeting of China Association for Language Testing and Assessment will be held in Guangzhou, China on July 6–7, 2019. This event is cohosted by The National Education Examinations Authority (NEEA), Educational Testing Service (ETS), and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), and co-organized by Foreign Language Testing and Teaching Journal. We invite proposals for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, or symposia addressing the following theme and topics.

Theme:
Language testing research in China: Past and Future

The past decade has witnessed the construction and release of China’s Standards of English Language Ability, the development of international, national and local language tests and the innovations in existing tests, such as HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), NETS (National English Test System), and NMET (National Matriculation English Test). These research and development efforts have spurred a wide range of studies on a variety of issues by Chinese and international researchers in the field of language testing and assessment. In addition to large-scale, standardized language testing, classroom-based language assessment has gained much momentum within the context of China.
We have chosen the theme of Language testing research in China: Past and future as the focus for the Fifth International Conference on Language Testing and Assessment & the Inaugural Meeting of China Association for Language Testing and Assessment (CALTA) to recognize the past research efforts in the field of language testing and assessment within China and to encourage and stimulate discussions on areas of research that merit further exploration.
