Repeated Test-taking and Longitudinal Test Score Analysis

Guest editors
Anthony Green, Professor in Language Assessment, University of Bedfordshire &
Alistair Van Moere, Chief Product Officer, MetaMetrics Inc.

The measurement and tracking of learning gains over time using standardized assessment data will play an ever more important role as new technology makes repeat test taking increasingly common. This area requires more attention if we are to better understand sources of score variability as well as learners’ development of language skills over time.  The aim of this special issue is to bring together and highlight emerging research in this area. We particularly welcome papers reporting empirical work that uses evidence from repeat test taking to shed light on learning processes, or the use of repeated test taking to promote learning.

Possible topic areas include:
· The use of repeat test taking within teaching and learning systems
· Relating different treatments or individual learner differences to differential learning trajectories
· Innovative approaches to analysing repeat test taker data
