Connecting language testers and specialists in L2 pedagogy: Issues in classroom-based assessment

LTRC 2018 is pleased to host a Roundtable on classroom-based assessment. The co-conveners hope to attract a small number of LTRC attendees who have a broad range of experience in working with language teachers, either teachers in training or practicing teachers, to respond to the invited papers at the Roundtable and to discuss issues related to assessment in classroom contexts. The presenters of the six papers at the Roundtable are Lyle Bachman and Barbara Damböck; Gary Ockey; James Purpura; Lorena Llosa; John Read and Mark Dawson-Smith; and Adrian Palmer, Daniel Dixon, and MaryAnn Christison.

If you are a language tester who has experience in working with language teachers and an interest in classroom-based assessment, we invite you to register for the Language Learning Roundtable on July 2, 2018. There is no charge for the full-day Roundtable, but there is a small fee of $45 for morning and afternoon coffee breaks that must be paid with LTRC 2018 registration. Attendance at the Roundtable is strictly limited (20), so please consider your own professional profile and interests before registering. We want to make certain that attendees can contribute significantly to the Roundtable discussions.
