Call for Nominations: UCLES/ILTA Lifetime Achievement Award
The selection committee, on behalf of the International Language Testing Association (ILTA) and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), is pleased to invite nominations for the UCLES/ILTA Lifetime Achievement Award. ILTA members are invited to nominate individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of language testing.
If the committee finds a qualified candidate, the award will be presented at LTRC 2010, to be held in Cambridge, UK, in April 2010.
Purpose of the award:
The award: The language tester so honoured will be invited to deliver a plenary lecture at the LTRC at which the award is presented.
Criteria for the award:
· Extensive, inspirational academic and professional leadership in the field of Language Testing · Valuable research and scholarship in Language Testing · Mentoring of students and/or young scholars into the field of Language Testing · Active engagement in the practice of developing and using language tests · Being an active* member of the Language Testing community currently or recently (i.e., within the last 10 years)

Include with your nomination a brief description of the person’s contributions to the field and provide a rationale for nominating him or her. Supply the nominee’s contact information, especially the email address, and if the nominee has an informative personal webpage, give the URL.
The deadline for nominations is four weeks after this call is posted, that is OCTOBER 30, 2009.
Lifetime Achievement Award Selection Committee:
*Posthumous award The award can be granted posthumously, that is to candidates who have died since the last award was made.
